0.8 Music Performance Tutor

We are after passionate, dedicated and creative educators to join our rapidly expanding team of lectures to help deliver on our FE Music Performance provision. We are currently looking for tutors with expertise across a number of areas in the Music performance and technology field. The successful applicant will be working .8 contract over 4 days. The successful applicant will be required to deliver lessons in a range of subjects on our Music Performance and song writing course.

You will have industry related skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Broad understanding of the Music Performance industry
  • Experience and knowledge of performance practice
  • Active awareness of current music industry trends
  • Active performing musician
  • Appropriate music theory skills
  • Song writing skills
  • DAW skills (Logic Pro X)
  • Composition skills in a workshop setting as well as digital audio composition.
  • General awareness of practices and workflow within the creative industries
  • Coordination of live events

This role will have a particular focus, joining an established team this .8 role will focus on Digital Audio production utilising Logic, planning and delivering sessions across both years of the course. The successful applicant must also be proficient in their craft, song writing, performance and technical prowess on a melody instrument (or vocal) is crucial. Alongside teaching digital audio production the successful applicant will lead a number of classes in performance techniques.

From planning lessons and preparing resources for designated programmes and modules to delivering enriching sessions and activities, our tutors are at the heart of the student experience. It is essential that you are conversant with current professional practices within your field of expertise. Ideally, you will also have experience of teaching at further & higher education. You will also be educated to degree level and will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification or willing to work towards one.
