HE Live and Technical Events Tutor

Higher Education Live and Technical Events tutor (0.5)

We’re looking for a passionate, gifted and creative live event practitioner to teach on our BSc and FdSc Live and Technical Events course. This role is initially a 2.5 day per week role, but may develop further in the future, picking up some industry and theory-based content also.

You should have experience in the following areas:

  • Recent audio / lighting system set up and operation for live events
  • Proficient operation of a range of live sound and lighting consoles (digital and analogue)
  • Previous industry experience working on medium to large-scale shows and productions
  • A very strong theory knowledge
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and legislation related to the event industries
  • Some additional experience video infrastructure for live events would be beneficial but not essential.

From planning lessons and preparing resources for designated modules, to delivering enriching sessions and activities in person and online, our tutors are at the heart of the student experience.

It is essential that you are conversant with current professional practices within your field of expertise. Ideally, you will also have experience of teaching at further and/or higher education. You will also be educated to degree level and will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. If you have the attitude and desire to work in varied, dynamic environment and believe in an industry shaping vocational provision, then we can guarantee you will play a key role in our success.
