Learning Support Assistant

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students who have learning difficulties and / or disabilities to access learning. You will work in a person centred way, to understand a person’s needs; identify and address barriers to success; and promote a motivation for increased academic independence and self-advocacy.

You will support across the entire curriculum, including Maths and English, and will need to support across different campuses. You may be required to support with personal care and support students with mobility difficulties to set up specialist equipment.

It is essential that you have experience of working with people with additional needs, in an education setting; a qualification in this area is desirable.  You must have strong PC and communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to work well under pressure. You will also be comfortable adapting to new initiatives as well as effective at building relationships.
