Music Tutor (15 hours per week)

Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies (CICT) is a forward thinking centre of learning, home to the very best technology, studios, equipment and industry-connected tutors. In 2015 the Confetti Media Group was acquired by Nottingham Trent University, increasing the opportunities for growth and success over the coming years. We have recently undergone an exciting campus transformation, part of a £12m development programme.

We’re after a passionate, gifted and creative educator to join our rapidly expanding team of lectures to deliver Music Business, Context, Music From Around the World on our FE provisions. This role is initially a 2 day per week role but may develop further in September 2020 into other Music related subjects. If you see your future supporting learners to fulfil their potential and have the skills required to create an innovative and inspiring learning environment – then this is the place for you!

You should have experience/industry activity in the following areas:

  • Broad understanding of the Music Performance industry
  • Interest and awareness in music from different cultures
  • Experience and knowledge of performance practice
  • Active awareness of current music industry practice
  • Active performing musician
  • Appropriate music theory skills
  • Song writing skills
  • Composition skills
  • General awareness of practices and workflow within the creative industries

If you have other skills in Music Performance related areas we welcome your interest for our growing curriculum.

From planning lessons and preparing resources for designated programmes and modules to delivering enriching sessions and activities, our tutors are at the heart of the student experience.

It’s essential that you are conversant with current professional practices within your field of expertise. Ideally, you will also have experience of teaching at further &/or higher education. You will also be educated to degree level and will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification or willing to work towards one. If you have the attitude and desire to work in varied, dynamic environment and believe in an industry shaping vocational provision then we can guarantee you will play a key role in our success.
