Sessional Lecturer HE Composition for Visual Media and Music Theory

We are after passionate, gifted and creative educators to join our rapidly expanding team of lectures to help deliver Composing Music for Visual Media and Music Theory in our HE provisions. If you see your future supporting learners to fulfil their potential and have the skills required to create an innovative and inspiring learning environment – then this is the place for you!

Please note this is an hourly rate sessional post for approximately 7 hours a week.

You will have industry related skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Appropriate music theory skills
  • Composition skills (specifically for media)
  • Song writing skills
  • DAW skills
  • Awareness of practices and workflow within the creative industries especially relating to composing for Film, TV and Games.
  • Broad understanding of the Music Performance industry
  • Experience and knowledge of performance practice
  • Active awareness of current music industry practice
  • Active performing musician

From planning lessons and preparing resources for designated programmes and modules to delivering enriching sessions and activities, our tutors are at the heart of the student experience.

It is essential that you are conversant with current professional practices within your field of expertise. Ideally, you will also have experience of teaching at further & higher education. You will also be educated to degree level and will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification or willing to work towards one. If you have the attitude and desire to work in varied, dynamic environment and believe in an industry shaping vocational provision then we can guarantee you will play a key role in our success.
