Notts TV began broadcasting in May 2014 as part of the national local TV initiative that was set to transform the media landscape of the UK. With 300,000 weekly viewers from Nottinghamshire alone, Notts TV are now broadcasting on Freeview 7 and Virgin 159, as well as On Demand.

At the end of 2017, the channel was also the first local TV station to join online service TVPlayer – allowing users to watch Notts TV live 24/7 without paying a fee or needing to register with the site. The move proved popular, as more than 50,000 viewers tuned in to watch Notts TV online throughout December.

With two Royal Television Society awards and a further 13 nominations, Notts TV have developed a reputation over the last three years for quality local television and have already become essential viewing for Nottingham residents, with a mix of local news, sport, debate, film and history programmes attracting a loyal following.
